Contrary to how I typically work, I began building this stool with no preconceived notion regarding its design. I simply wanted to utilize some scrap wood I had on hand, and began by gluing up the seat with two live edges. The mortises on the underside of the seat left much to be desired, so it’s a good thing they’re hidden! At the very least the project gave me the confidence to attempt more complex joinery in the future.
Now I’m eager to return my attention to the aforementioned bed project. But in the meantime there are many books to design! More on those new projects soon.
